Spring is here, people - and so is the onslaught of pollen and dust. I don't know about you, but we're already in need of some serious spring cleaning. It doesn't matter if you're dusting off the candles on your mantelpiece or the box of tapers you've saved for your client's wedding tablescape, we're here to help!

Proper cleaning of classic wax is one of the most popular questions we get asked here at Colonial Candle. Sometimes, we get a customer that pulls out a box of pillars they haven't used in a few months and there's going to be a bit of dust on them. (I swear it's not our fault!) Don't worry, it happens to us, too - so, we've developed a quick cleaning fix.

It's super quick and easy! There's only fours things you'll need: your candles, a pair of scissors, some old nylon tights, and a butterknife.

Step 1. Using your scissors, cut out a piece of fabric from the nylon tights, about a hand-sized in length.

Step 2. Rub the fabric across the surface of the candle - the wax should immediately be shiner and smoother.

Step 3. For more stubborn spots, you can gently use a butterknife to scrape the mark from the surface of the candle. Be careful not to make any holes in the wax!

*There will most likely be a waxy residue left on the tights, so feel free to throw them away. If you want to reuse them later, all you have to do is freeze the fabric overnight and then take the butterknife to scrap of the wax.

And finally you're done! Now, go ahead and let that creative spark shine! We want to see all of your decorating ideas - from tablescapes to home decor. Feel free to tag us on any of our social media sites.
